DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS. THEY WILL DEMAND A RANSOM AFTER THEY PICK UP YOUR ITEMS AND HOLD IT HOSTAGE. Their license has been revoked by FMSCA: http://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/query.asp?searchtype=ANY&query_type=queryCarrierSnapshot&query_param=USDOT&original_query_param=NAME&query_string=1753607 We booked these movers because they were nice on the phone and provided a "binding estimate" via email and asked us for 20% deposit. Once the deposit was made, no contact. They sent movers who were drunk during pick up and came unprepared for a move. They cussed, yelled and were incredibly rude. They did not provide any document or even an inventory list upon pickup. Then "TONY" called and demanded a ransom and held our stuff hostage. We complained to BBB but they never answer. They torture customers and double or triple the amount AFTER they pick up the items, even though you never add any items which are not mentioned by you when you ask for a quote. They damage everything and behave very rudely to you. The office will NEVER respond to your queries after you pay the 20%. Suddenly, Tony the dispatcher becomes Tony the boss of them all. They don't even have their own truck. They come in a rental truck and harass you at your doorstep. WORST MOVERS EVER. They are not worth the time, effort, mental torture and you do not need to put up with them. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has suspended their license. They are not supposed to have any commercial operations but they are still operating. The website is fake, movers are fake. Beware of Stephanie, Julie, Kim and Tony. They are fraudulent people who should not be allowed to cheat customers.
I hired US Van Lines on August 8th, 2014 to transport my furniture from CA to NJ. It was a last minute move. I moved from NJ to CA last year but the job fell through and things started going south. So I decided to move back home. Luckily they had a truck available and they quoted me $1150. They arrived a day after I booked the move and I was speechless of how professional they were. I received my items a week ago and I thought I would take a minute. Thank US Van Lines publicly on how of a great job they did. I am very happy with the services. Thanks for the last minute life savers.
I have to start off saying this has been a great moving experience from the very first call to the delivery of my items. My initial phonecall was quick, efficient and prompt, I had called a few moving companies and decided to go with them, and Im so happy I did!! They explained my move to me step by step, from beginning to end. My pick up was on the exact day as planned and so was my drop off. The office staff and moving staff are very friendly and helpful and I had no hidden surprises with this move. What I was quoted, I paid, and for much less than other companies I did research with! Bottom line: LOOK NO FURTHER! This is the company to go with... I will highly recommend them to all friends and family! Thank you for everything!!
This is the first time using us vanlunes. From the beggining the Kelly the girl that called me was very friendly. She was very helpful as well took the time to explain all aspects of my move. The guys that came to pick up my furniture were very friendly as well. They were really hard workers. They worked over 8 hours wrapping all my furniture with barely resting and not compalining. I did receive my items about 2 weeks later just like promised. You can tell they did a really good job on wrapping my furniture with those blankets they use. I had some antique pieces so i was a little worried since this was a long ditance move Bottom line i am really happy i used these guys. I did call to thank them for a great job done and why not spread the love around.:)))
NO DELIVERY after 33 days. Don't use this company. I have filed a DOT (Department of Transportation) and a BBB complaint. Pick up was late 6/5/14 - delivery still has not taken place. Calls & emails not returned. They will take your money and your belongings. I have to hire an attorney just to get these people to respond. Look at Yelp's website and you'll see what I'm referring to. We don't know if anything is damaged, missing or if we will ever see anything again. I marked damage/dirty since one item was damaged while the driver was putting it on the truck.
RUN AWAY - WORST MOVERS EVER!!!Somehow this company went off the rails over the last couple months. I hired US Van Lines to move some furniture and boxes from Modesto, CA to Atlanta, GA. Sales team was great initially and then unavailable (didn't answer emails or phone calls once problems started).1) Pickup - Upon arrival I had the pick up team review items and initially confirm everything was in contract range. "Of Course" until about halfway through when the lead driver said you are over the amount on the contract and it would be about an extra $1000 but for $300 on the side he would let it go. I had previously measured everything but had to get it done. So I agreed to the additional charge.2) Told the shipment would take 7-10 days to arrive. My sister had to call Tony (mentioned in so many other reviews here) and kept being told it would arrive the next weekend, then the next weekend, then the next weekend. Come to find out the shipment had been still sitting in the warehouse (baking) all this time. DO NOT TRUST WHAT TONY TELLS YOU. Stuff finally arrives 35 days after pick-up with damage. Regardless of the "21 business day" delivery specified in the contract they will not stand behind anything.3) Dining table arrived wrapped because of being in the heat and standing up on an incorrect side. There were also scratches and broken pieces.
The movers we're suppose to be at my house between 8-12. Called them and they kept saying they were 30 minutes away. Continued to call them every hour till about 3 pm. Each time they were 30 minutes away. Sent an email to Julie and she never returned my email or the call that I made. The email voiced my concerns about the competency of the company.I wanted to cancel services. If all that was happening now...what else was going to happen? They did not want to come on the scheduled date because it was late in the evening. They said that they would be up till the early morning packing. They did show up the next day about 5 hours late. I had to cancel appointments for that day. The lead mover came in with an attitude because I expressed to him that he was late! they ran out of blankets. Did not have room in the truck for all of my items. He told the movers to wrap my tables with blankets when they got to the wherehouse. Those tables came un wrapped! When the van arrived here in Virginia the movers started bringing boxes and items that were not mine!!!maybe this is what has happened to my missing items. When we were done with the inventory there was 3 or 4 items missing. I wrote the numbers on the side of the inventory sheet. He went out to the truck , got his sheet and told me that those boxes had to be somewhere in the house because they were on his sheet. No they weren't! Where my boxes taken into someone's home like the wrong items they were bringing into mine? My christmas ornament box came in ripped, this was new. My lamp was broken along with many other items! As I unpacked I found many things missing. My box with my bridal shower items are no where to be found, expensive cookware gone, a box of under arm our tennis shoes, my gym bag packed with items along with many other things. I have called Tony the dispatcher and he always tells me, call back in 2 days. I filed a claim a week ago. I have had to call them twice for a confirmation email, still have not received it. It's now going on 2 weeks. I have left messages twice for Julie with no return call. Horrible company!
I was very worried about moving long distance. As this was going to be my first BIG move. I placed a request online for a moving quote, and was overwhelmed by phone calls. Most of the sales people were complete robots. When Jenny called me, I immediately felt comfortable. She was honest, and she let me know about any extra costs I might be charged Not once did I feel deceived by her. Us Van Lines was able to make my move with no problems, they even moved around the schedule for me. Toni, from the dispatch department, kept me informed of the scheduled pick up date and time. The driver called me to let me know they were an hour away. When they arrived, they were very friendly and helpful. I had a few things that needed to be packed, and they were very careful with it. They even gave me a discount on the packing. During the loading, they put stickers with numbers on my items and wrote everything on my inventory sheet. It couldn't have gone smoother than it did. I wasn't sure about the delivery date so I called Jenny, she told me she will call me 48 hours before the delivery, I was called back within 2 days before the day of the move to check if I am ready for my delivery. I was given the drivers name, and phone number. The driver also called me to let me know that he would be there friday or Saturday. I had to work and I told him that it would be great if it was on Saturday, and he said no problem and made it work. When they got there on Saturday, they unloaded my goods and were soo careful. I will only be using Us Van Lines, and I would definitely recommend them to everyone!! I just want to thank everyone at Us Van Lines, for making my move the best!! YOU GUYS ARE THE GREAT!
I hired US Van Lines (“USVL”) for my move from Seattle to San Francisco on Thursday, March 27. Jenny is the representative I spoke to who arranged the move. Take away was scheduled between 1:00-3:00. Jenny stated my belongings would arrive in 4-7 days. USVL didn’t call the day prior to confirm the move date/time, which I thought was odd. I called them at 12:30 on March 27. Jenny was unavailable so I spoke to another representative. She said she’d call dispatch and have them call me. Ninety minutes went by with no call from dispatch. I called again and was given the telephone number of Tony in dispatch. Tony called the driver who was picking up my belongings. I was told the driver and team were still in Port Orchard, Washington (more than an hour from Seattle) loading another customer and would be at my apartment between 6:00-7:00! I became worried USVL would not show up. I called Tony at 4:30 for an updated status but he did not answer; I left a message for him to call me. I then called USVL and spoke to Jenny. She called Tony to get the telephone number of the driver (Franco). She called Franco directly. It was confirmed they would be at my apartment between 6:00-7:00. I told Jenny it was critical for take away that day as I was flying out the next morning. Franco called after 7:00 to say he’d be at my apartment between 8:00-8:30. An additional 60-90 minutes delay! I mentioned not receiving a confirmation call the day prior. He said he called but there was no answer. I asked why he didn’t leave a voice message. He said, “I don’t like leaving messages on machines. My bad.” At 8:40 they arrived. OVER 5 HOURS LATE! At 9:48 p.m., I wrote an email to Jenny regarding what had occurred. I never received a response from Jenny nor any formal apology from USVL. On Sunday afternoon March 30, I received a call from Lance of USVL. Unlike Franco, Lance left a voice message. He let me know he was 40 minutes away with my belongings. At the time of take away, I told Franco I was in no hurry for my belongings. Just as with the take away on March 27, I received NO confirmation call the day prior for delivery! My bank is not open on Sundays to get the cash required at time of delivery. I called Lance and he said he could deliver on Monday morning. He said he had driven from southern Washington that day, had already made one delivery, was exhausted and would like some sleep before delivering my belongings and heading out of the area. He said he’d call his supervisor and call me back and didn’t see a problem. Lance called to say Franco would call me. Franco called and in a rude and disrespectful tone said if I didn’t accept delivery that day, he’ll charge me an additional $350 to deliver Monday. Lance apologized for Franco’s behavior and felt it unfair of Franco to want to charge me an additional sum, given Franco knew Lance was staying overnight in San Francisco. While unloading, I noticed Lance was carrying several boxes in upside-down. One box was clearly marked “China” and ‘FRAGILE.” Three pieces of Villeroy and Boch china I had purchased in May 2013 (and hadn’t used until September) were broken. It made me wonder if this box, and the other boxes that were carried in upside-down were also loaded into the truck and moved that way. My bed is comprised of a painted metal headboard and footboard. The headboard was heavily scratched during the move. The bed is seven months old and there were no scratches prior to the USVL move. Both sides are equally scratched. USVL did not wrap these items in blankets to avoid damage. Apparently, the level of service and care customers receive from USVL is dependent on whether customers choose full replacement value protection. I suspect USVL would’ve been more careful had I chosen the option. Franco did NOT explain at the time of take away I was waiving protection. I have moved from various cities throughout Florida, from Florida to Atlanta, from Atlanta to San Francisco, and from San Francisco to Seattle (and back) twice. This has been the WORST moving experience I have ever had with a mover. Don’t believe the positive reviews you see for this company!!
Run fast and far. This company is unprofessional on so many different levels. They are dishonest and rude. They have me a certain price and when they got to my house they told me they would charge me and additional $950 because I had more stuff than what was on the list they were given. The only additional items I had was a sofa and a love seat. I don't understand how packing a sofa and live seat would cost an additional $950. They were supposed to loaf my furniture on Thursday and didn't show up until mid day Friday. They get to my house, decide that they don't have the space for my things and tells me that they're gonna make a delivery 10 miles away to make the room. They told me they would be back in an hour, 2 hours max. 3 hours later I hear nothing. After my parents called and went off on them they called me again and told me they would be back at 8am Saturday morning. How the hell do you go from Thursday to Saturday just like that. The dispatch manager who's supposed to make things happen was a money hungry idiot. He was rude and no help at all. At this point I feel like the couches should be moved for free because of the horrid customer service they've provided. I would not go with this company. They are unprofessional, rude, and dishonest.
