This company damaged nearly everything we moved, due to their negligence and carelessness, and they then refused to compensate us for the damages. They "protected" a marble-topped dresser with one blanket and nothing more; the top predictably broke. Our iMac computer was in original packaging that included thick, molded foam, and they managed to break this foam and to bend the base of the iMac. The base is solid metal, so I cannot imagine the force they had to exert on the box to do this. They did not protect an antique hutch, which was damaged in the move. They did not protect many obviously fragile items but instead threw them loosely into a larger box, which predictably led to them being broken or otherwise damaged irreparably. They charged multiple "long-carry" fees that were unwarranted given the distances they had to move our possessions. The staff who unloaded our things feigned shock at the way things were packed and they assured me they would make sure we were taken care of in terms of recompense; instead, they disappeared as soon as I tipped them. I filed an insurance claim but the coverage offered was not nearly enough to compensate for the damages, and the company declined to do the right thing and pay for the damage they did. I will be suing them in small claims court as a result. No one should have to endure what we've had to endure in dealing with them. They refuse to take responsibility and be accountable, and it's truly sickening. I have plenty of pictures to back up my statements.
After reading the great reviews posted regarding Statewide Relocations, I decided to hire them for my out of state move. Everyone appeared helpful and pleasant, until I handed over my money. The movers that picked up my items tried to hustle me for more money, stating that my fragile items needed more bubble wrap and special casing (2 pieces of card board at $160), which I refused to pay considering the items were already overly wrapped. The movers then tried to tell me that my second couch (a chaise) was not on the list, so I would have to pay extra; obviously he did not know that it was called a chaise, which was indeed listed. Once they realized they were not going to make any extra pocket money on my move they proceeded to disassemble my items and move them out. I was sure to tip them anyway when they were done. A few days prior to my furniture
These people are sneaky and greedy! I asked them every question I could possibly ask to be prepared and make sure were no additional moving charges. The salesgirl did not tell me everything! Then when the movers showed up they ended up charging me for extra room on the truck after I told her everything on my inventory in addition to ridiculous prices for extra packing material such as for my couch, which the salesgirl told me I didn't need to worry about. They make up their own arbitrary rules and prices as they see fit. Crazy expensive credit card surcharges that were never disclosed in the original contract! The dispatch lady then gets loud and irate with you when you question her. A move that was originally quoted at 1060 ended up being 1778!AWFUL!! STAY AWAY!!!
I highly, highly suggest everyone stay far away from hiring this company. They are unprofessional and crooked. I will give you the shortened version of story: Two men show up a day early to move our stuff, reeking like smoke (not tobacco either). The main mover proceeds to yell at us for having too much stuff for a 2 bedroom apartment, when we have less than just about everyone else we know. He then looks around and doubles the quote to 3000. Then once its all packed, and in the truck, he ups it, again to 3800 or so. Then after 4 days I call to find out where my stuff is along the way. They refer me to their driver, who speaks no english. Luckily I speak some broken Spanish and I got out of him that he was in NYC and would not be here for at least 4 days. He also told me he had never heard of statewide movers. What the...? Finally the guys show up a week and a half later in a distgusting large moving truck. Every piece of my furniture STUNK like a musty/moldy rooms. The one good thing I will say is the guys that showed up to unload, while they didn't speak much english were nice guys and worked pretty hard. I don't hold them responsible. Various other problems, I was treated like garbage by their customer service, and my calls were consistently not returned. I was told I could pay on a CC or debit and then was told by the driver at the 11th hour I had to make a check payable to him. The drivers overtly hit on my wife. So yeah, I would highly advise anyone to stay away from this garbage company.
Late to pick up - doubled the price before they entered the building. They have no respect for the persons belongings. Charged for boxes and crates not used. Very late delivery with inadequate help to unload and assemble. Almost everything was damaged to some degree and in total well over $2500 in damages that will be paid by an insurance company CSI that pays by the pound I will receive
I manage a Self Storage facility in Spring Valley, CA and State Wide Relocation moved one of our tenants into their storage unit. Not only were the drivers incompetent and rude, they irreparably damaged one of our metal storage buildings and an embankment with a retaining curb. They could have easily turned the truck around by driving a short distance around our lot but instead decided to take a "short cut" and back up an embankment, damaging a retaining curb. In the process they pulled forward and back repeatedly hitting the door of a storage unit, damaging the building beyond repair. Replacement of the building will cost a minimum of $15,000 and will require the displacement of multiple tenants. We have filed a police report and are pursuing criminal vandalism charges against State Wide Relocation and their parent company. Additionally the movers damaged multiple items belonging to our tenants including a valuable motorcycle, tool boxes and other items, and they moved the wrong boxes into storage. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! As a storage facility many people ask for recommendations on moving assistance and we would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE.
I am extremely happy with this company and their service. From the first phone call to the delivery of my items, all my questions were answered and I got the service that they promised. I recommend them to all
I have moved over 3 times and this move from SC to FL was the smoothest move of all. I chose Statewide Relocation to move me and they made this transition stress free. They had a very fair price and they delivered my items faster than expected. I have already recommended them to friends and I would like to recommend them to others.
Repeated delays, misinformation, poor communication, lack of diligence, caused me to cancel the move after waiting for over 24 hours for them to show up! No reasonalbe person would use this company. Grade=F Horrible experience.
All I can say is do NOT under any circumstances use this company. I hired another moving company who then contracted out to this company. They were hours late for the pick up, days late on the drop off and then showed up with boxes which looked like they had been through a war. I had multiple items seriously damaged and dirtied. They were impossible to get in touch with and get straight answers. They also showed up in a huge truck to deliver to an apartment complex and then told me I had to pay $500 extra on the spot before they would unload anything since their truck wouldn't fit in the apartment complex. We filed a claim and got hardly anything in comparison to what was lost and damaged. All in all, do NOT use them Period!
