Recently I used Red Lion’s services and I would never use them again. The initial quote given from the inventory list was almost three thousand less than the final cost. This company will underbid all the others but then you’ll end up paying two times more that their initial quote. The representative who initially gave all the information had no idea what she was doing and once the nightmare of the move begun, it was like the representative didn’t even work for the company because she gave so much wrong information. This company measures by space not pounds which the rep initially stated. Some of my items were scratched up or damaged. Your items will not be handled with care, but instead shoved into the truck (like sardines) with other movers items. My items were picked up in a truck about 25ft, but when my furniture was delivered they brought a 75 ft truck (Imagine that pulling into my apt complex). The truck was blocking in half of my new neighbors (great way to make a first impression). If I had to do this move again I would have definitely went with a local mover, who initially told me not to use out of state movers. Moving is hard enough, especially one that’s long distance, so I suggest staying far away from this company.
They quoted me $2500 for an interstate move. I paid an initial deposit via credit card. They showed up 8 hours late for pick up with no notice. They only updated me when I called to notify them the movers had not arrived. They packed many small items (not fragile) individually in huge boxes. After everything was loaded on the truck they demanded a total of more than $6000 stating an increase in the cubic feet. By this time the office was closed and I could not reach Tommy either. The moving crew demanded cash in the amount of $500 stating that they needed to funds to secure a hotel room for the night as it was after 6:00 pm at this time. They told me that I could not pay the balance on a credit card and insisted on a personal check for the remainder of total. I called the office and Tommy the next morning and they would not take my calls. Once I had someone else call them from a different number, they answered. I am guessing they did not recognize the number. I got a different story from everyone that I spoke to regarding this issue. No one could tell me where my property was and when it would be received. Olivia and Randy cursed at us and were extremely rude. They told us their corporate office was in Hollywood, FL but when we sent a letter to that address it was forwarded to another address in Hackensack, NJ. When the truck with my furniture did arrive, only the driver came with it. I had to assist him in unloading everything. Now I am finding many of my items are missing. Run fast away from this company. Do not let them do your move. Masters of bait and switch tactics!!!!!!
I had a very pleasant experience moving with Red Lion Moving and Storage. I moved from NJ to FL. From start to finish the move was a complete success. This company just completed my move last week to Tampa Bay and me and my family are extremely pleased we went with these guys. They walked us through the process and left nothing up to chance. They accounted for every scenario and the transition was extremely smooth. My representative was very friendly and helpful and my moving crew was fast, safe an efficient. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to move! In fact my parents are planning to move to South Carolina next year and I will be definitely call Red Lion Moving and Storage to move them. The service was just great. I can't say enough about them. Great packing, no damages and it was a very fast turnaround. After what you hear about some companies, companies like Red Lion Moving and Storage should get as much exposure as possible. Glad we used them.
