My experience with this company was terrible. I should have known something was up when the movers showed up in a Budget rental truck. I called the company to ask why they were not using one of the company trucks shown on their web site. I was told that when they get real busy they often use rental trucks. In addition, after I expressed my concern about the movers, they assured me that the movers were all professional movers. Yeah! Right! There was so much damage to my things. Boxes smashed, ripped, torn; an expensive oil painting I paid extra to have custom packed was torn from the frame; a new washer was now dented; a handle dangling from the dining room server; a dresser drawer and the bottom of the dresser was damaged; lots of glass heirlooms destroyed; a patio table was missing its legs; nuts/bolts were missing from items that they disassembled; etc. I contacted Pure Moving Systems the day after delivery about the damage and about having the movers return to assemble the items they failed to assemble or properly assemble and to move items to their correct places. Despite repeated requests, the request was ignored until weeks later when they basically said they would come that weekend but only to assemble a couple of items and if I wasn't available the matter would be dropped. How convenient for them to get out of fulfilling their obligations since I had told them I would most likely be in another state. I ended up moving things and assembling or reassembling items myself. For example, a queen size platform bed had a custom bold laying on the floor. After removing the mattress and box spring I found almost all the bolts were barely tightened. Worse yet, not one single screw was found in all the cross slats which support the mattress. They lost those as well. I was so angry I sent them the following email: Today I decided to try to assemble the queen bed that your people took apart but failed to correctly reassemble; this was made obvious by the bed's custom bolt found laying on the floor next to the bed. I don't know why anything surprises me about your sham of a moving company but surprise surprise ALL TWELVE OF THE SCREWS THAT HOLD THE CROSS SLATS ARE MISSING. Obviously your employees, or perhaps day laborers, don't give a dam whether tasks are properly completed. I would think that this would bother your company but since your company is nothing more than a joke I know it won't. Three movers came to pack my things in Bakersfield yet only one showed up in Las Vegas for delivery. I explained to the driver that there was no way he could do that by himself because my stuff was heavy. When I contacted the company they tried to tell me that the other person scheduled was suddenly ill. Totally contradicts the fact that their driver had already told me that he was the only one scheduled to off load everything. Much, much later that afternoon another helper showed. He told me that he is a landscaper just helping out. They didn't leave until late that night. And because it was late, they refused to place anything further in their proper location or reassemble other items the movers took apart. Just as the rental truck was leaving, I ran outside and flagged them down. I insisted they bolt the 68" H x 16" D x 60" W top of the china cabinet to the bottom. After all their people are the ones who removed the bolts and took it apart. Furthermore, with all the glass in that 5' 8" top I would have thought they would have used some common sense and secured it instead of just sitting it on top of the bottom unit. Pure Moving Systems is a disgrace to the moving industry. When I researched moving companies, I found a company named Pure Moving & Storage; they're rated A+ by BBB and have hundreds of positive reviews. Unfortunately when I got ready to book, I simply typed in Pure Moving and ended up at Pure Moving SYSTEMS' site without realizing it was a different company. So a warning for you. Pure Moving & Storage is the one with all the good reviews. Pure Moving SYSTEMS is just piggy backing on their name.
I had a horrendous experience working with Pure Moving Systems for my move from San Francisco to Greenwich. They were unprofessional, late, and lost or broke about 25% of our belongings. The men that came to pick up our furniture were obviously hired from Craigslist. They were not professional movers and smelled of alcohol. When the drivers pulled out of our driveway they hit the side of the building and sped off even though we were chasing after them to stop. They never provided insurance after asking multiple times. They were over 2 months late dropping off our belongings in Greenwich and to top it off they didn't have our couch, arm chair and 6 foot tall standing mirror. I understand misplacing some boxes maybe but a couch?? Additionally, a bench and several boxes of dishes were destroyed. Please be warned to not use this company. There is another moving company with a similar name-Pure Moving Company (that I believe they stole) so be careful when doing your research. This is how we were tricked when looking up reviews.
I worked out a quote with Richard of Pure Moving prior to electronically signing a contract and sending deposit of 30%. Glad I took snapshot of this contract from my phone, as you are not able to view the electronic contract link once you send your deposit. He assured me that I would not be charged anything additional without my approval in advance and that the movers are not allowed to put anything on the truck until they get approval from me to do so based on any new estimate. He also assured me that I would only be charged 13$ for any additional boxes that his company had to provide. The emailed agreement was for the movers to come to my old house in Philly, get the key to the storage unit, and a couple items from a small utility room in the house. Then go to the storage facility and move all the inventory to their moving truck for delivery. Richard stated that my inventory would be picked up and delivered the next day. Richard was fully aware that I would not be there for the pickup. The movers arrived at the house in Philly, then called me stating that it would be about 50$ per box as they had to box up all loose items. I declined this price point and told them that Richard told me that it would be 13$ a box only. They stated that they would talk to Richard about this and call me back prior to leaving with the final quote based on how many boxes they end up needed. The movers never called me back period. Then, the movers told the owner of the house that she had to sign all the documents prior to them moving anything from the house. They neglected to show her the original contract I signed showing the cost. Then after she signed, they added her name to the initial contract to make it look like she was the customer signing off on all the additional charges, which never the customer. There were also things that included her initials on the new contract, that she did not sign and that they forged. They also made her choose the insurance option where if anything was destroyed or lost, I would have to settle based on the weight and I would only get .60 cents per pound, not the actual value of my belonging. Thus, they added a new person to a new contract without my permission, then the movers went to the storage space facility and added the bulk of the load from there to their truck. The movers never called me or the new person to give any estimated new charges prior to loading anything at the storage unit which is the contractual agreement and law. They took the new contract and then filled in new charges. The new charges included doubling the price of any additional cube space not quoted. Later that evening I called the company as I had not heard from them since they initially called. The company sent me a copy of my new contract that included all these new charges. Initial quote $1,340. The revised quote with new contract that I did not agree to in advance was $3,160. This is more than double what I was originally quoted. I called for Richard to own this and get it fixed, and he differed it to Ann and said sorry. I spoke to Ann from here on out with operations and told her about what happened and her repeated response was, "Pay what is owed as we have the signatures" We went back and forth for a couple weeks with me disputing the added charges that I never agreed to and the fact that they can't add someone to a contract and hold me responsible without my permission. It got to the point where Ann literally cussed me out with vulgar language. I sucked it up and paid the new charges to get my stuff back. They took well over a month to ship it to my home in Kentucky, but stated they operate on M-F as business days. They told me the night before of the truck coming to Kentucky and gave me the drivers numbers. The driver and I agreed on a date and time. They did not show up then told me he would deliver the next day or I would be charged extra. The mover eventually came to my home around 6pm 2 days later and smelled like he had been smoking weed all day long. He was the only one there to help with move of over 522cube from a 1 bedroom home. It took him several hours to complete move and he was unable to get my sofa upstairs and he damaged it and my door to my home.
I chose this company for my move under the impression that I would get my belongings in a reasonable time period. The sales person that I worked with gave me every impression that it would take around 7-10 business days for my items to be transported. I said they could even be picked up earlier than necessary so long as I can get them on or around the 18th. After getting to my relocation, I was informed that they have 21 days to deliver items after the 18th. I was not told this IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM prior to agreeing to use this company or I would have went with another for my move. I am now in a new house with none of my belongings for three weeks. I am very unhappy with this service.
