We requested a couple quotes, after about 25 quotes and a full mailbox, we got fed up with being bothered by so many companies. we picked 4 companies to check out, we wont say who the others were, but last mile was one of them. One company quoted us $600 and another quoted us $2500. Michael, our salesman, after getting a lot of specific information from us quoted us $1700 to $1800. After all was said and done it came in a bit under. He called us again the day before the move to confirm our time frame, and the guys showed up pretty much on time and they had everything loaded and wrapped up and were ready to go within just a few hours. They worked thru the day, and almost didn't even want to stop to eat, but we picked up some pizza for them and they did seem very greatful. We were very happy with our move and will always recommend them in the future. You may get tired of hearing from Michael, he sent us emails, called a couple times a day, and even texted us before we called to get his quote. In the end we are very happy.
The two guys who did my move were EXCELLENT. They were careful with everything and packed my stuff in the truck like a jigsaw puzzle. They worked very hard and didn't damage anything. They hardly even took a break and declined my offer of lunch. My complaint is with Jeff Arnett and the estimate I was given. He massively underquoted my move at between 250 --350. I begged him to come and look at what I had, but he refused, saying it's rarely worth it and would not help him make the quote. I described myself as having "a lot of stuff" -- particularly books. I have lots of books and I told him about 40 boxes worth, which was pretty accurate. My move turned out to be nearly 600$! I resent the underquote. By listening to everything I had to say about my stuff and then telling me a much lower figure than the one I had in mind, I feel I was misled. Jeff should not do any more quotes on the phone if this is the result. I was very descriptive and complete about what I had when we talked, so how he came up with the low estimate, I don't know. I didn't even have my kitchen packed, so who knows how much more my move would have cost if the entire contents of the kitchen had been included.
Owner Jeff Annett refused to pay our claim. The move was good, good guys moving our things 3 miles to a new house. The put two large creases in the front of our stainless steel fridge. The damage was noted by the lead mover and annotated on the contract. When I contacted Jeff he said he would not honor the claim, flat out. Subsequent emails and call were never returned. Do yourself a favor and avoid an unethical person and company. He is the reason why moving companies, particularly local ones have such bad reputations for ripping off their customers - because they do! DO NOT use this company for any reason, ever! After reviewing several companies I selected Last Mile moving because the company projected the right credentials to me at a great price. We used then on September 3rd, 2012. I feel now that my only benefit was a great price as they did not honor the terms of the agreement and have not returned phone calls. The terms of the contract included moving everything I wanted moved from my previous residence. Once I left the premises to be at the new home for a delivery from another company, they packed up and shut the truck telling my wife they were done. There was a TON of things left behind. It took my wife and I several more trips loading our own vehicles to get it done. Also, the terms of the contract were to break down and re-set up all furniture. This also did not happen. The men just DUMPED everything they could into the garage and did not set up part of our bedroom set. They did not even tell anyone where the hardware was for it. The crew also broke my office chair, which was quite expensive and completely shredded my King size mattress. The crew showed up on time, but they all were wearing clothes with the logos of different moving companies therefore making me wonder what company they actually work for. As far as damages go what upsets me is that Jeff, who seems like a boss or owner of the company never returned my phone calls about the situation and the crew pledged to bring me a new or replacement office chair and as expected, has never come back. Lastly, they said they could not move a particular piece of furniture into the basement. They said it would not fit. In this case, we changed our furniture order and plans for furniture in the new home. The furniture company came by and had no problem moving the piece in question down into the basement prompting us to once again change our furniture order back to the original plan. I know that part is confusing, but they are the movers, I expected more from "the professionals". They did discount me by two hours at $119.00 per hour but now I am out of pocket much much more to replace a King mattress and an office chair. No call back from Jeff, the owner?? Unacceptable. If you are looking for rock bottom pricing, maybe a good choice, but it could cost you more in damages.
I was looking for a good and affordable moving company for my move from TX to PA. After many hours of searching online I found Last Minute Movers. com and they managed to offer me a great moving company within my budget. Steer clear of this company. We set up our move over two weeks in advance, communicated with Jeff about the items we needed moved and the three locations we were moving from. Agreed to the prices on the website and thought we were good to go –NOPE. Morning of the move, the guys show up, 4 not 3, like we planned and gave us a totally different price scheme. They said if we didn’t agree to the new pricing they would just leave, leaving us high and dry without movers on our moving day. We didn’t have any other choice but to agree. Tried calling Jeff all day with no answer, no calls back. The moving guys had no idea we were moving two apts and one storage unit into a house so they were pissed because they were told just one apt. We had also arranged for our 1,000 lb. gun safe to be moved that day, Jeff assured us it would be no problem –NOPE the guys didn’t have the equipment to move it that day. Had to take off two hours from work Monday for the moving guys to come back to move the safe. STILL have yet to hear back from Jeff, avoid this company! On a positive note, the guys that actually did all the heavy lifting were efficient and did the job well, I feel sorry for them having to work for such a poor business owner.
Beware!!!! Beware!!!!! The owner, Jeff Annett is not what he says he is! They stole from mel!!!!! They will damage your things beyond repair and not replace them! The owner will tell you that he has insurance but will not return calls or replace items that he and his crew destroy after your move!!!! Jeff will promise a low bid and then overcharge you all due to his own incompetence!!!!! They will make any move into the most stressful time you have ever spent with any mover....this is what they have done to me and my family and I have seen other reviews that state the same things. They literally stole from my garage and completely tore off and broke a side panel of one of my couches and tried to hide it by taping it!!!!! They maliciously took the hardware needed to put together for my son's bunk beds and other items needed to be able to use furniture beds, etc. and won't return them or my calls begging to get the hardware back!!! Jeff was late both days of the move causing his men to sit around and wait for him and also crippling our ability to get another truck to move some excess items. Then he wanted to charge for all that time and the effort needed to work around the issues that came up because he was late. When I refused he and his men became surly, rough with my items and would not reassemble items they had taken apart to move. Jeff the owner was such a jerk! He spent hours complaining, would not listen to any direction - went on and on about his "recent divorce"! Just made you want to run screaming from the building!!!! (and then knowing you would have to pay him for all of the stress, broken items - jiminey) The move was a complete disaster! Now my daughter is in tears over her items that they broke. :( If you choose to use them - don't say you weren't warned!!!!
