Long-distance move from North Hollywood, CA to Kihei, HI
REMAIN THE FUCK AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY CON-ARTIST! Other pen names names are: city moving firm, relocation delighted relocating firm, guardian relocating firm as well as one more one I can't remember ... however STAY THE FUCK AWAY! I wish I'm the last review for this business so no one else has to go with this.
We had Cardinal Moving Systems (CMS) ready to come pick up our household goods on October 22 (2011). When I spoke with them on Tuesday, October 18th, we confirmed the pick up date and I told them that I would reconfirm a day or two before. I called that Thursday and also Friday to reconfirm the Saturday pick up day, but only received voicemail. I left two messages one each day. When Saturday Oct. 22 arrived, we waited for CMS to come get our things. No one showed up. Finally, a dispatcher called and said they had us down for next week to pick up our things. I reassured him that today was the pick up day. Then he said he had the pick up scheduled for Monday the 24th. I told him that for the past two months that I had been speaking with Noel from CMS that we were flying out on the 24th and everything needed to be out and cleaned by that day (at the very latest). He told me everything would be arranged and everything would go smoothly. I gave him a deposit, and now when October 24th arrived they were canceling the pick up. They told me they would try and get someone out maybe later in the day and that they would call me back and let me know...I waited until 8pm that night, and no one came or ever called me back as promised. The next day was Sunday, and we were to leave the island on Monday morning. We are amazed at the dishonesty, lack of promises and communication and disrespect that this company gave us. They tried so hard to get our business to fall through and leave us with no where to turn and no common decency toward us. It's tough to be stranded with two days to go and no where to turn, then the movers pull a stunt like this.
These people will promise you the world. But they don't seem to stop and listen to what they are selling you and then back it up. A quote will stick when they are selling it. But when it comes down to completing the order they either do not proceed and or change the price. These people CANNOT BE TRUSTED. The story changes from day to day including who the owner is and who they claim they are firing to make you happy. They are such liars! I wish there was more that could be done to keep people who do business like they do, out of the business. I spent a ton of money coming out to arrange things for the move as they told me to. Then just before leaving I confirmed everything was done and ready to go. But no one was ever around to wrap things up every time I called over and over, with no messages passed along and no follow up replies. Then another person said they could help, but stated that they cannot provide the service I was sold. If I have to go back it will cost me thousands again to fix what they told me to do. They have now shipped my truck after telling me it was abandoned in Long Beach of all places. Now I will have to pay additional car rental fees on top of new hotel fees to fix this mess. Do not use these people. They claim to be a "stress free" moving company. That's a load of . . .
Recently my best friend/roommate decided to move out to Hawaii to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The semester was 1 week away from beginning so she had no time to pack a lot of her big items that she wanted to take along with her. Since her birthday was coming up in a few weeks I decided I would surprise her by shipping everything that belonged to her out to her new apartment ( she already spent a lot of money during her move as well as school tuition). I was moving out with my boyfriend and she had bought most of the items in our house so I knew it would make her happy. I had no idea on how to make this move happen. Fortunately, a friend of mine had use Cardinal Moving Systems about a couple months ago ( she's from Arizona) and she recommended them to me. I have this thing with trusting companies who promise you the world but don't even give you a minute of their time, so instantaneously I did some research before calling them. I found a few other companies but they were way too over priced and rude. I needed to send her a lot of items yes but I knew I could find a better deal. So I went ahead and called this company. I believe Crystal was the phone operator's name. She was very kind, understanding and knew what she was talking about (unlike those other companies I shall not name) So I had a huge list of items I needed shipped out to my friend in Hawaii. She gave me a quote and I just couldn't turn it down. I was actually shocked and thought maybe this was all some sort of hoax. The day of the pick up a very nice man( can't remember his name) called me and let me know his estimated time of arrival and actually arrived a little bit sooner. He helped me unplug the laundry machine because I did not know how to and loaded everything else that was going to be shipped out in the truck. He handled all the items carefully and very gently, even items that could have just been tossed and wouldn't brake. I don't remember how long it took to deliver but I know my best friend called me crying. She was super excited and happy about the surprise delivery that I had placed for her. She told me all her items were in perfect condition and that she was very pleased with their services. This review I would save is from the both of us. I have used other great moving companies before but none like Cardinal. They have outstanding customer service and really care about their clients. I am so happy I actually stuck with them and even till now I am shocked about how wonderful their pricing was. To all the other disappointed customers, I'm not too sure of what happened but I don't see how anyone wouldn't be happy with these people. Thank you for saving me money, and helping me help my friend be happy. You guys are the best..
This review is based on our experiences thus far...first we called and got the information for our vehicle, which was supposed to take 3 weeks, approximately, from shore to shore. Ok, we thought, let's ship it early enough so that it is available for pick up right after we land back on the mainland. Nothing was mentioned during the transaction period that we would be charged a daily fee to store our vehicle once it got there. Alas....the sucking away of our hard earned dollars had begun. Our truck arrived in lightspeed time...we started getting calls and emails daily telling us to pick up our truck. LOL, we still had 2 weeks until we flew off the island. We had to pay them to hold our truck for us, even though THEY misquoted the time it would take for it to ship. Included in the process were all of the hassles of miscommunication between the sales people, us, and the actual shipping people. Harrowing moments spent making desperate phone calls to the main office for info. There was an area at the shipping depot where all of the desperate customers went, a sort of 'freak out and call your salesperson lounge', where all of the customers were gathered making loud and shrill voiced calls to their respective 'contacts' regarding their vehicles. Wow! I went to the rental car and let my fiancee do the dance of desperation with all the other people. SO! THEN....being the kind of folks who like simple, friendly, and helpful sales people...well, of course we booked our household move with Cardinal....yay! We liked Frank. The projected time frame from HI house to OR house was 3-4 weeks....we assumed it would be a bit longer, figured in the cost of rental furniture on both ends, paper supplies for our dining needs, and calculated the best date to schedule pickup in HI so as to alleviate a long lag on the other end (the family is travelling all over the place and we didn't want to leave grandma at home to tend to the movers...she's 82 for crying out loud!) And, here I sit...its been a day or two shy of 4 weeks...haven't heard a word. My fiancee called them this morning and was told 'well, we are running at least 21 days out...so, it could be 3-6 weeks..we'll call you.' NO FREAKING WAY! Now my 82 year old mother in law, and her caretaker (luckily she is just turning 50 and is disabled,,,much better to deal with the movers), get to deal with the movers, cuz the rest of us young and spry folk in our clan will be travelling. SO: caveat; IF you plan to spend more money on your vehicle shipping than planned, plus the joy of getting dunning calls from the reception site, and include that into your budget...plus...click click of the calculator keys...add 45 days to the quoted time for your furniture move, by all means, use this company! Overall, it was the hardest thing EVER, to move from Oahu to the mainland...crying teens, sad grandma who doesn't want to be chilly, even us adults who will miss plate lunches, slippers, and even 'Hawaiian time', mahalo very much...but to have the wonder of these added benefits? Well, I would rather have known what I was dealing with...oh, wait, I thought it did! LOL. Stay tuned....after I go call Rent-A-Center and design some furniture out of household garbage I will start a little journal of the days I spend waiting. Eventually I will try to provide the total time for our move,if and when it ever happens (I hold faith that we will actually get our stuff), and post it for all on this site to see. Oh, wait, an afterthought: I don't think we even got a list from the movers in HI (who were AWESOME, they were the greatest...seriously, they did the job for Cardinal,,darn, who were they? I will check) for our total count (boxes/furniture.) I would double check with the big guy, but he took mom out for a jog and power lifting class in prep for her big day with the movers.
I wanted to share my thoughts and gratitude to Cardinal Moving Systems for the service and caring that they have displayed during our move. We were in the middle of a short sale to purchase our new home, but as any of you would know short sales are plagued with problems and delays. Turns out we had to change our moving dates 4 times over 3 months and each time Frank my sales rep at Cardinal Moving Systems accommodated our request with a smile and reassurance. I also wanted to note we were never charged for all those date changes. The crew that arrived to pick up my items was fantastic they took tremendous care of my belongings and made sure to prepare my house so they didnít damage my walls or hardwood floors. Thanks Frank and Cardinal Moving Systems for being there when we needed you most.
I hired Cardinal Moving to relocate me from Hawaii Kai, HI to London. I can say that I had a good service. I called in to request a quote and Christopher their representative assisted me, he explained the move process, paperwork that was going to be handled and pricing. I received a courtesy phone call one day before the move to clear up any lingering questions and confirm the date. On moving date, Oren and his team arrived and was very quick and efficient to pack up all of my belongings into the truck (wrapped the TV, mattress, dressers, and my glass top table) The final bill came out to be exactly the same as the estimate so on that part I was very satisfied because I didnít have to encounter any unpleasant surprises, however I must say that when I finally received my belongings here in London, I was very unhappy when I unpacked my glass top table and I found that the glass broken. I immediately contacted them about the issue, well they send me a glass specialist here in London in about 2 days after I called, since the damage was beyond repair, Cardinal paid for the cost of the replacement of the new glass for my table. Overall I had a good experience, even though they damage the glass from my table, their response to my claim was pretty fast so I am satisfied.
We had a great experience with Cardinal Moving Systems for our relocation from Oahu, HI-Italy, and not to mention they were very affordable. I found Cardinal through a friend. They were prompt and arrived on time the day of the move! We had done a lot of packing and serious organizing in advance before their arrival so we were completely ready to go. They were unbelievably fast and put a lot of attention and carefulness. They bring their own truck, and for a 3 BR house, these guys are great. The customer service and dispatch team was very efficient. Although they were very careful with my items, only a box came damaged, to my good fortune it was only a box with bed linens so nothing to worry about. I would highly recommend them. My husband and I felt it was really everything you want in a mover: efficient, friendly, careful, and affordable. Thanks soooo much Cardinal for a great relocation
I am using Cardinal Movers for the second time. They did a fantastic job the first time, plus their price was better than others. I knew I made the right choice, I am impressed again with their service. Mainly because the crew was great! I did have the same driver, but different crew. They were nice, careful with my belongings, and pretty quiet. I'm going to use them in the future if I need to move again. I just hope I can request this crew again! And, as an added bonus, it ended up taking a shorter amount of time†than I was quoted. Cardinal Movers are the best!!!
Smoothest move ever! From start of inquiry to end of move - fast, clean, professional. Cardinal was the first of four companies I emailed requesting quotes to contact me - within 45 minutes of my request. I was quoted a not to exceed price the next morning by Avi - a fair price for four movers a shuttle van for my steep driveway. The move leader and his team arrived early and went to work immediately - these guys knew what to do and did it. I felt the typical anxiety disappear instantly. They did not disappoint, moving me in half the quoted time - HALF THE TIME. Can't imagine that this is always the case, but I tipped large and waved goodbye. I will never use any other company for moving - thanks, Cardinal Moving Systems.
